This seminar will provide real examples of how Welsh Cancer Research is making an impact both at the national and international level.

In this talk I will cover aspects of cancer immunotherapy, cancer prevention – the story of HPV, drug discovery and drug development, radiotherapy and Early Cancer Diagnosis  – which is a particular issue and focus for the UK.

Having originally trained as a biomedical scientist, Lee studied for a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science. Having held numerous research positions and consultancy posts, during which time he has published a number of highly cited research papers.

He currently serve as an authoritative lead on all research projects funded by Cancer Research Wales, continually monitoring of progress and assessment of outcomes from the diverse range of scientific and clinical research projects. This also involves the development of strategy that will help identify, support, and promote the early translation of promising research into clinical practice.
